The Client

FreightCrate is a logistics technology company that is revolutionising the international freight industry.

FreightCrate is a full-stack digital freight forwarder that enables exporters and importers to procure all-inclusive freight rates, make instant bookings, and manage shipments online. This approach helps businesses save time and reduce costs while enhancing visibility and transparency in pricing and order management.

Project Goals

Collaborative design for aligned business and technical solutions

The design process also prioritised close collaboration with the founder, product manager, and developers to ensure that design solutions aligned with business goals and technical requirements, fostering efficient communication and quick decision-making.

GOAL 1

Streamline the freight booking and management process by enhancing transparency and real-time visibility

GOAL 2

Work closely with the product and development team, and the founder for better progress

Digitised Logistics Platform

As part of the design team, we crafted a customer and vendor journey that began with the ability to obtain door-to-door, air, and sea freight quotes to over 130 countries worldwide. We ensured all quotes were all-inclusive and presented in standardised formats for easy comparison. Our design also focused on streamlining shipment management with online tools for tracking and analytics, providing users full control and visibility over their logistics.

Customer app

Customers could easily create an RFQ (Request for Quote) and receive multiple quotes from various vendors in a standardised format for easy comparison. Once a quote was selected, they could book shipments directly through the platform, with features that allowed them to track their booking in real time.

The design also included tools to manage freight documents, invoices, and other essential paperwork, ensuring that the entire shipping process was streamlined and easy to manage.

Niraali and team did a fabulous job on Ul design and UX for our freight platform. It was a complex assignment but they were able to synthesise requirements with clarity and deliver withconsistency.

I would highly recommend Bokaap to anyone seeking a reliable and UX/Ul design partner.

Vendor app

Vendors could quickly respond to RFQs (Request for Quotes) by submitting their rates in a standardised format, ensuring clarity and efficiency. The platform also allowed vendors to easily manage and update their rates, keeping them competitive and relevant. Once a shipment was booked, vendors could oversee and manage the shipment process, from confirming bookings to coordinating logistics.

This design simplified the vendor workflow, enabling them to handle their operations and stay responsive to customer needs efficiently.

FreightCrate to Frebotic

As FreightCrate rebrands to Frebotic, the company envisions transforming from a traditional freight forwarding service into a cutting-edge tech platform. The goal is to revolutionise the logistics industry with advanced digital solutions that streamline freight management and set new standards in efficiency and innovation.

The envisioned logo captures this ambition, blending elements of sound waves, binary code, and a bird’s-eye view of a container port. This design symbolises the seamless harmony of technology with on-ground freight expertise, embodying Frebotic’s commitment to delivering a robust, future-ready platform for optimising freight operations.
