Chargepool provides users with an efficient way to locate and book EV charging stations while on the road. Bokaap Design was brought on as the design team to conceptualise and design the desktop admin app and the user-facing mobile application. With this product, end-users can filter and book charging stations based on location, available amenities, type of charging point, and more.
To ensure a seamless engagement from strategy to launch, Bokaap Design was also instrumental in developing the app in collaboration with our technology partner.
Our goal for the ChargePool project was to create a seamless, user-friendly experience for both electric vehicle (EV) users and charging station owners, ensuring that every interaction with the app was intuitive and efficient.
We developed a mobile application that is easy to use for both EV users and station managers, as well as a web application for station owners, allowing them to efficiently oversee and manage multiple stations with ease.
Our goal for the Chargepool project was to create a seamless, user-friendly experience for both electric vehicle (EV) users and charging station owners, ensuring that every interaction with the app was intuitive and efficient.
We crafted a smooth onboarding process that prioritised simplicity. Users enter their vehicle details, enabling the app to personalise station recommendations. This ensures users quickly find charging points suited to their specific EV model, saving time and providing a tailored experience right from the start.
Recognising the different needs of public station owners and private EV owners, we developed two onboarding flows. Public station owners, as well as individual EV owners willing to share their personal charging stations, are guided through a simple process to get their stations online and accessible to the community.
We designed a two-step booking flow to make reserving a charging station as effortless as possible. Key details such as station availability, pricing, and amenities are prominently displayed, allowing users to make informed decisions. Selecting a day and time slot for charging is straightforward, and users can easily manage their bookings through the mobile app, providing flexibility and convenience.
For the ChargePool project, we focused on creating a robust design system that would not only serve the immediate needs of the product but also provide a foundation for future scalability. We developed a cohesive design language that included a library of reusable components, typography, colour schemes, and UI patterns, ensuring that the user experience remained consistent as new features were added. This design system allowed the development team to work efficiently, as they could easily integrate new elements without compromising the visual and functional integrity of the application.
Chargepool was developed in collaboration with our development partner, Atto Infotech.
